Rev. Tommy Hays is a Spiritual Director, Teacher, and Prayer Revivalist. He serves as Executive Director of Messiah Ministries, the ministry he founded and leads for interdenominational teaching, preaching, equipping, and prayer ministries of inner healing, deliverance and spiritual formation. Tommy ministers throughout the diverse traditions of the Christian faith. He is ordained as a United Methodist minister under special appointment from his bishop to lead his own ministry rather than serve as a church pastor. He is also a member in covenant relationship with MorningStar Fellowship of Ministries, an international prophetic teaching ministry led by Rick Joyner (www.morningstarministries.org) and the Global Awakening Apostolic Network led by Randy Clark (www.globalawakening.com). He holds a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary (‘97), a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas at Austin (’86), and a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin ('83). Tommy serves on the Advisory Council of Aldersgate Renewal Ministries, on the board of Kentucky Christian Foundation, and as a Kentucky Regional Area Advisor for Aglow International Ministries.
Tommy was called to ministry from his law practice as a trial attorney in Texas, and now offers personal prayer ministry and spiritual direction by private appointment through Messiah Ministries at our office in Lexington, Kentucky. He is a frequent speaker in conferences and churches of many ecumenical gatherings, spiritual renewal weekends, and prayer revivals inter-denominationally throughout the United States and the nations. His daily prayer devotional, Morning by Morning, is sent to readers around the world almost every morning by email and his book Free to Be Like Jesus—Transforming Power of Healing & Deliverance is taught by many as a standard resource for inner healing and deliverance prayer ministry.
Tommy also leads a citywide, ecumenical service each month of prayer, praise and healing worship called “The Fountain” and teaches The Fountain School of Spiritual Ministry in a number of formats at our home base and by invitation nationally and abroad to train and equip believers for spiritual ministry. Tommy is the father of five wonderful children- Elizabeth, Zachary, Madison, Elijah, and Josiah. He is a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, where the Messiah Ministries office is currently based. He continues to practice law on select matters from time to time as the Lord leads in the Lexington law firm of Troutman & Hays PLLC (859-253-0991), as a minister in the marketplace and Public Square of the community.

Brooke & Shannon Barrett
Volunteer Directors of Worship
We first met Tommy at the altar of a church in Hopkinsville, Kentucky in September of 2005, just a few minutes before ministering together for the first time that same evening. It was a powerful weekend. We stayed in touch and began building together from there doing worship for Fountains, then Schools of Ministry, then Healing Retreats and now here we are! Shannon (originally from London, Kentucky) is a manufacturing engineer at GR Spring & Stamping in Richmond. He attended EKU and met and got to know Brooke at Church on The Rock where they participated in prison ministry together. After going through a season of being mentored under Lois Delong and much persistency on Shannon's part and much prayer on everybody's part Tommy married them two years later on October 25th, 2006. Brooke is from Carrollton, Kentucky and attended Berea College. She has been doing a mix of mentoring, tutoring, prayer partnering, coordinating of prayer counsel for the Berea Health Care Ministry, and lots of other different project jobs… and of course takes care of their home and Shannon as well! “It’s hard to put a description to what I do,” she says, “it changes all the time!” In addition to their daytime commitments/jobs they both volunteer at their church. Brooke is a member of the worship band and Shannon is part of the audio/visual team at Church on The Rock. Our vision and passion is to worship Jesus Christ sincerely as we grow in knowing who He truly is and who we truly are in Him and we love leading others to share in the experience also!
